1.  Historical  Events  1737-

Peshwa Bajirao-1 led Marathas to victory against the Nizams and Mughals in the battle of Bhopal in 1737.

India's first freight [ goods train]  train was operated in 1851, carrying clay to build
the Ganga Canal.

Events 1911------------------------
British Emperor George V proclaimed to shift India's capital from Calcutta to Delhi in 1911.

Events 1913-------------------------
Rabindra Nath Tagore became the first non-European to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.

Nagaland became the 16th state of India in 1963, with Kohima as its capital.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose raised the Indian Flag in Andaman, the first Indian territory freed from British Rule.

Events 1954--------------------
Bharat Ratna and Padma Vibhushan, India's highest civilian awards, were established on 2nd January, 1954.

 Bmimrao converted to Buddhism in 1956.

Events 1961-------------------------
India liberated Daman and Diu in 1961, ending Portuguese colonial rule dating back to the 1500s.

Kalpana Chawla became the first Indian- born woman to go to space in 1997.
