207- Story of Savitri and Satyavan
The story "Savitri and Satyavan" occurs in the epic 'Mahabharata'. The goddess in Hindu mythology was the daughter of the solar deity Savitr and the wife of the creator god Brahma. She got married to Satyavan, the son of a blind king named Dyumatsena of the Shalv a kingdom. Satyavan was destined to die one year from the day, she tied the knot. The time passed and Yama came, yanked Satyavan's life, and started going southwards with it. Savitri faced Lord Yama bravely . She followed him.
